Why is it you see more of your own surroundings when you have visitors than any other time. It seems we don’t appreciate what we have on our own doorstep as much as other places. When we have visitors we proudly show it off and if you’re like me, you kick yourself that you wait until others are there before you go out enjoying your local sights. This was a day spent in Sydney while Annie was visiting. Cecile and I along with Annie caught the train into the city, wandered around some of the beautiful places before catching the ferry from Sydney Harbour down the Parramatta River. A beautiful trip if you’ve never done it. Here are a few of the photos of the surrounding scenery I took. :
Happy snapping.. Livvy 🙂
A Pelican Swimming down the River. He was most annoyed to have to move out of the ferry’s way.
He was totally unaware till we got really close.

Open terrace houses in the Rocks. This is remnants of the old terrace houses which were once habitated by early settlers. Thankfully these are restored but open for all to wander through. No roofs and only bits of furniture but when you see the size of them, you wonder how families lived in such small abodes. Worth a visit.
A shot from inside one of the terrace houses of the next terrace.
What you can see here is across 3-4 terraces. How tiny are they?

A wonderful photo tour – love your header and thanks for visiting!
Thank you so much… It’s nice to know you enjoyed it 🙂
Great pics Liv, I really enjoyed these. You posed the question why it is we see more of where we live when visitors arrive? I think we just take our immediate landmarks for granted knowing that we can pop over and enjoy them any time we want… but the thing is, we usually never do lol My good friend who has lived in Amsterdam since she was 12 had never seen the Anne Frank house until I visited couple years ago, and she enjoyed it just as much as I did. The majority of us must all think the same.
I think it’s something people the world over are guilty of Cheryl. We flock to other countries to see their beauty… while that countries inhabitants are flocking to other countries to see their beauty lol… At least the world is a small place and we can flock 🙂
