A quiet day in France still surpasses a great day anywhere else… Livonne

I could barely walk down the steps this morning. I slept like a log but when I got up I just knew my legs would remind me of how much walking I did yesterday. To make it worse, I had run out of Nurofen to keep the throbbing legs at bay. But a cup of tea was urgently needed, so down the stairs I limped.

Everyone was running late again today. I sat down and had a cuppa when a few others started to appear. Even David slept in today which meant our usual boulangerie breakfast was running late. To be honest, we were all so sore and tired, I think even eating breakfast felt like a chore. But none of us regret it. We had a fantastic day, regardless of the leftover pain from the stairs at Mont Saint Michel.

After breakfast was eaten, we were preparing to go into Fresnay sur Sarthe for some grocery shopping. Not that we need anything much, but I wanted some more white wine and just a few munchies, so Cecile and I, alongside a few others headed in when David went in. Seriously, as I said the other day, this is a big shop.

We chose a few wines for ourselves, plus Monica had asked to get a few for her, which we did. A few snacks and stuff and we were set to go. Gary went to lift our grocery bag and I told him not to as i was so heavy. Between ours and Monicas stuff, we had 10 bottles of wine in there. Anyhow, we headed back to the chateau, just in time for lunch. It felt like we’d just had breakfast which we had, but we had lunch regardless.

I chased Cate down and did her photoshoot. I am doing a series of the people here and will show you as I finish them. Her shoot went great. So far, Tarnia and Cate have been brilliant models. I got a few ready for instagram but only from the phone camera, not the phone itself.

That done, I sat down to start to edit a photos but it all takes time. There are so many layers of any one set of photos but it has to be done. I got a few things cut out and will go look at taking some background shots tomorrow if we don’t go out.

Dinner tonight with Gary at the helm was Roast pork surloin with salad, bowties pasta, baked zucchini, beans and carrots.. I’m sure something else but I can’t remember. For sweets we had brownies. Ohhh so good. All of it. Then we had a round table discussion again which really makes you stop and think.

After dinner a few of us sat around chatting and I’m only just going to bed now. Not too much to tell today and yet, this is a day I will keep in my heart with so many moments of new friendships being formed. I’m exhausted from lack of sleep and too much wine, so I will say adieu to you all…

Happy drinking wine… Livvy xxx
